DIABETIC RETINOPATHY
Case Report DM A 69 years old male patient having diabetes for past 12 years presented with diminution of vision in left eye for one month . On examination his vision in the right eye was 6/9 and left eye was counting fingers 2 meters. Lens showed early cataract in both eyes .Fundus right eye showed many scattered retinal hemorrhages and exudates while the left eye had macular edema with severe NPDR Fluorescein Angiography showed diffuse leakage at macula and cystoid spaces were evident by OCT. he was given intravitreal lucentis in the right eye on that very day and a repeat injection was given after 6 weeks. He showed a dramatic improvement one week after the second injection . his vision improved to 6/24 and edema had markedly reduced. He was able to carry out his normal routine satisfactorily. |
